What can we do for you in custom reading spectacles?

Our professionals will recommend the optimal material combination for your reading spectacles brand. Based on your desired frame style and cost planning, we'll recommend the optimal material combination, including injection molding, acetate, and metal.

Why choose Skymood for custom reading spectacles?

As a company specializing in high-quality custom optical frames, Skymood understands that every customer's needs for custom reading spectacles are unique. Whether it's a comfortable reading experience or a stylish design, we can tailor-make the perfect custom reading spectacles for you.

Existing optical reading glasses, while convenient, may not fully match your vision needs and personal style. Custom optical reading glasses, on the other hand, guarantee precise prescriptions, personalized frames, and functional lenses.

How to choose reading spectacles lenses?

There are three types of lenses to choose from: single vision lenses (with a uniform diopter across the entire lens), bifocal lenses (with a zoned design (dual focus for near and far vision) for versatile viewing, and progressive lenses (with seamless transitions between far, intermediate, and near vision, consistent with natural eye movement; requires professional fitting).

Single vision lenses

Single vision lenses are suitable for close-up reading, but can be removed for long-distance viewing. Wearing single vision lenses for distant viewing can cause dizziness and nausea. Therefore, the temples of our reading glasses are longer than those of optical frames or sunglasses to make it easier to lower the frame from your nose.

Bifocal lenses

Bifocal lenses are suitable for wearing all day, with either a non-prescription or nearsighted lens for distance viewing and a reading lens for close-up viewing.

One thing is certain: the reading area of the lens has a distinct dividing line. This can easily lead people around you to guess your age as soon as they notice your glasses, which can be quite disconcerting.

Progressive lenses

Progressive lenses are a theoretically ideal, perfect lens. They look just like regular lenses, so no one can tell your age or whether you're nearsighted or farsighted. This design not only eliminates the noticeable dividing line between bifocals and glasses, but also eliminates the hassle of frequent eyewear changes, making it ideal for those who need to cope with a variety of eye needs.

Their characteristic is that the upper half of the lens is clear or myopic, while a transition zone in the middle gradually transitions from +50, +100, +150, and so on, to your preferred reading distance. As you view objects up close, the presbyopic area below the lens gradually adapts to your vision, providing a clearer reading experience. Progressive multifocal lenses require a high level of eye exam and wearer experience, so initial use may take some time, making them unsuitable for those who struggle with adaptation.

However, if the wearer can adapt, these lenses are undoubtedly a practical and aesthetically pleasing choice, particularly for those who value both form and functionality.

How to choose reading spectacles lens materials?

Reading lens materials include AC, PC, CR39, and nylon.

If you're pursuing a low-margin, high-volume sales strategy, we recommend using a PC frame with AC or PC single-vision lenses. Selling in packages of three or five pairs will result in a very low return rate and high customer satisfaction.

If you're targeting high profits, we recommend using a TR or acetate frame with CR39 bifocals or progressive lenses. Adding features to the lenses can include blue light protection, oil repellency, anti-fog, anti-glare, and UV protection.

CR39 lens cutting requires precise cutting, requiring an instrument to locate and mark the center point of each lens for accurate cutting. Therefore, the processing cost is relatively high. Most optical shops primarily use CR39 lenses. Cutting AC and PC lenses is quite common.
